Personalized Learning Experiences for Your Child's Growth

At our facility, we conduct an initial assessment of your child's abilities and skills to determine their level. We then develop a customized learning plan that suits their needs.

We consistently push them to improve as they advance. When your child has met the skill requirements of their current level, we will transition them to a more challenging class, regardless of how far we are into of the current session's progress.

Our Founder Daniel Kittelson

Our Founder Daniel Kittelson

Daniel was born in Red Wing Minnesota and raised on a small farm.

January 5, 1990, was Dan’s first class ever.

Dan utilizes psychology in his teaching methods, it allows for him to see things from the child’s point of view and helps makes his classes successful.

His favorite thing about teaching is trying to understand each child individually and trying to get the most out of them each class,

referencing the teaching methods, he has learned over the years and changing those methods to tailor them to how the kids he is teaching needs to learn, it helps make quick and noticeable improvements.

Dan’s thoughts on his approaching retirement:

“I will miss so many things about teaching.

Like the look on a mom’s face when their child swims for the first time or the excitement in a child’s voice when they say loudly that “they did it !!!” “I can swim by myself!!!”

But I do look forward to starting a new chapter, but I don’t know if my mind will ever be away from swimming.

It’s something that will always be a part of me.

And the countless kids and teachers I will never forget.”

What Our Clients Say

4 years ago when I was looking to enroll my baby into swim lessons, multiple coworkers of mine highly recommended Kittelson Swim School, and I can absolutely see why. We brought our 1 year old to his first lesson with Kittelson back then, and we haven't stopped going since. In only a few lessons when our son was a baby, he went from being very scared of the water with lots of tears, to loving the water and loving his teachers. He is now 5 years old, and he can't wait to go to swim class on Sundays; it is the favorite part of his week. My husband and I can't believe how much his swimming has progressed over the years, and I can truly say it is because of the individualized attention and care the Kittelson instructors show each and every session. They truly care about making the kids feel comfortable around water. In our experience, Kittelson Swim School offers the perfect balance of knowing when to be patient with the kids and their learning curve and when to challenge the kids to progress their skills, always in a fun, safe and trustworthy way. Our son has had multiple instructors - they are all excellent! We just had our second child, and we look forward to enrolling him with Kittelson Swim School when he is of age. Whenever any of our friends, family or coworkers ever mentions they are looking to get their kids swim lessons, we are proud to recommend Kittelson!

We tried months at another swim school where our kids spent about 6 mins of a 30 min lesson in the water. Most of the time was on the side of the pool as each child took a turn with the instructor. At Kittelson, our kids are in the water and engaged the entire time! They have progressed so much since we joined Kittelson. The instructors are all wonderful!

My youngest struggled at first to feel comfortable in a group lesson and Kittelson gave me the option to convert our lessons into private lessons for a few weeks. My daughter thrived under the one-on-one attention and in a few weeks time, felt comfortable enough with the pool, instructors and expectations to join the group classes again. Now we can’t get her out of the pool at the end of class!

The instructors are all friendly, knowledgeable and effective. We are so happy we found this Kittelson
